Naming of 67012 at Shrewsbury

3rd July 2008

On 3rd July, 67012 was named "A Shropshire Lad" at Shrewsbury station by Class Three of Clee Hill County Primary School. The name was chosen by Hayden Edwards, who was helped in unveiling the nameplate by Kyle Dempsey. The school’s motto reads “From Clee to Heaven the beacon burns,” the first line of A. E. Housman’s “A Shropshire Lad.” The Clee Hills are also Housman’s “Blue Remembered Hills”. Class Three also have a day out on WSMR’s trains to look forward to.
